Get ready, get set…its the Metchosin Day Zucchini Race!
Come one, come all to try out your racing skill on our deluxe, custom built track from local volunteer extraordinaire Todd Pickard Woodworking . At the Sea Bluff Farm tent we will have a stock of zucchini racers on hand, but serious racers will want to come with their own. We will have a table with parts and decorations to make your special zuke racer. Everyone will be wanting to get an edge on the competition because more than just the glory of winning this very fun all-ages event, there are some serious prizes that have been donated by Metchosin Country Store, Metchosin Pharmacy and My Chosin Cafe.
Categories for entries include:
- pickle weight (1/2lb and under)
- middle weight (2lb and under)
- Monster Weight (2 lb +) and
- Outliers (vegetables other than zucchinis with no weight restrictions)
Here’s the schedule of events:
11am -3:45pm – the track will be open for testing, and there will be a table with zucchinis and other vegetables for zuke car design and construction
4 pm -The Official Racing Begins
Heats for the Pickle Weight, Middle Weight, Monster Weight and Outliers
Final Races in each category will follow, don’t miss the excitement!
